Welcome to Siloam Springs TNR and Cat Rescue - Compassionate Care for Community Cats

A Mission to Transform Lives

Siloam Springs TNR and Cat Rescue: Our Journey and Impact

Discover how a simple act of kindness turned into a community-driven mission to manage the stray cat population through humane practices.

Our Humble Beginnings

Siloam Springs TNR and Cat Rescue was born from a family's compassion when they discovered a group of hungry kittens in their backyard. This unexpected encounter sparked a movement to address the growing number of stray cats in the area. The founding family, along with dedicated volunteers, transformed their backyard discovery into a full-fledged rescue operation. Their mission: to provide care, shelter, and a chance at a better life for every stray cat they encounter.

Our Collaborative Efforts

Affordable Neutering Services

Partnering with local low-cost neutering providers, we ensure that every cat we rescue is spayed or neutered, significantly reducing the stray population in our community.

Community Education Programs

We offer workshops and resources to educate the public on the importance of TNR and responsible pet ownership, fostering a more informed and compassionate community.

Adoption Initiatives

Our adoption program focuses on finding loving homes for tame cats and kittens, ensuring they have a safe and nurturing environment.

Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome volunteers to assist with trapping, transporting, and caring for cats, as well as participating in community outreach and education efforts.

Understanding the TNR Process

Step 1

Step 1: Humane Trapping

Using specialized live traps, community cats are safely captured without harm, ensuring a stress-free experience for the animals.

Step 2

Step 2: Neutering and Vaccination

Once trapped, the cats are taken to a veterinarian for spaying or neutering, along with receiving essential vaccinations like rabies.

Step 3

Step 3: Ear-Tipping and Return

After surgery, the tip of the cat's left ear is clipped to indicate sterilization, and they are returned to their original location to continue living in their familiar environment.

Benefits of TNR

Population Control

By preventing reproduction, TNR helps stabilize and gradually reduce the number of stray cats in the community.

Healthier Cats

Neutered cats experience fewer health issues and live less stressful lives, free from the risks associated with mating and pregnancy.

Community Harmony

With reduced nuisance behaviors like fighting and spraying, TNR fosters a more peaceful coexistence between cats and residents.
